How To Make Passive Income on YouTube

I am all too sure that you have heard how lucrative the YouTube scene is. Why else would you be looking for a blog like this to read? Well, you can indeed earn big bucks from YouTube, even passively!

Every day, five billion YouTube videos are seen throughout the world. YouTube is just as popular as it has always been, with users spending an average of 40 minutes per session on the site.

Furthermore, two out of every three potential purchasers look at YouTube videos before purchasing a product or service. The next thing you should understand is how to pull income on YouTube, in line with this digital transition.

YouTube stars are today’s self-made celebrities, people who have built a following by making video material aimed at teaching, entertaining, reviewing, and generally being wonderful on the internet.

Making money on YouTube is no longer limited to a small group of platinum musicians, businesspeople, or social media celebrities.

YouTube provides a plethora of ways for regular individuals to make money. You must, however, take a more planned approach because unless you are lady luck herself, all these potential riches won’t come in a day

In this blog, I will go over a few ways you can make passive income on Youtube. But before that, there are a few things you need to do to get started with YouTube so let’s get into those first.

How To Get Started on YouTube

Create a YouTube Account

Creating an account does not imply that you will be able to profit from it. YouTubers must adhere to certain rules, such as growing an audience and maintaining a particular level of engagement.

Having a large number of followers proves that your channel is profitable. We’ll get into more of that later in this blog.

Make Videos

Because most smartphones come equipped with high-quality cameras, using one is both convenient and effective.

Recording in HD will result in a higher-quality video, so make sure to utilize your phone’s maximum quality level.

You can use a DSLR camera and an external microphone to create a more professional video.

Making quality videos is important, editing them is equally important. You can use a free desktop program like Windows Movie Maker or iMovie to edit your video.

A premium program like Adobe Premiere for more advanced functionality. A free editor with minimal features is also available on YouTube.

Make sure you don’t utilize copyrighted music when editing your video. Your videos will not be eligible for YouTube advertising if you do so.

Upload to YouTube and Configure for SEO

You can fill up the details about your video after it has been uploaded, or while it is being uploaded. When establishing a title, description, category, and tags, be as specific as possible.

YouTube is the world’s second-largest search engine, and strong SEO can be the difference between a few views and a few million views.

Promote Your Video

You can get followers and views by promoting your videos.

As your following grows, you’ll be closer to being able to monetize your content which will happen when your channel is live and you have a database of material and a captivated audience.

How to Make Passive Income on YouTube

Now that we have gone through all the basic things you need to need to get started on YouTube, Let’s get into how to make money from it. It takes work to make, optimize and upload videos to YouTube so you might as well get paid for it, right?

YouTube Partner Program

Ads are the most important source of income for many YouTubers. You can earn money as a YouTube Partner in a variety of ways. Advertisements before your videos, channel memberships, and Google AdSense banner ads are all ways to make money. However, there are some ground rules to follow and some qualifications to meet before being an authorized YouTube Partner.

You must have 1,000 subscribers and have a minimum of 4,000 video watch hours on your channel in the last 12 months, in addition to adhering to YouTube’s ad rules.

There is no set schedule or format for completing these 4,000 hours. To reach 4,000 hours, you can earn 100 hours each from 40 YouTube videos, or any mix of the two. For some, it could be one viral video that would earn them their 4000 hours while for others, it could take 100 videos pulling different hours each.

Affiliate marketing

For channels that provide in-depth instructions and informative product reviews, promoting affiliate links can be a huge moneymaker.

You’ll start earning commissions if you recommend a product and a user clicks on your link to buy it. These links can be included in the first few words of your description, and you can mention them throughout your video content.

Promoting affiliate links on your blog and posting affiliate links on YouTube have a lot in common. As a result, you shouldn’t use affiliate links in your YouTube videos only for financial gain.

Remember that readers will only click on these links if they believe you are a reliable source. To gain more subscribers and create trust with your audience, assist them in solving concrete problems and providing tutorials. As a bonus, you can create videos that offer solutions you have previously accomplished yourself.

Sell products or merchandise

You may generate money with your YouTube channel by selling a variety of things. Beyond cash, selling merch—t-shirts, coffee mugs, tote bags, snapbacks, you name it—has a benefit.

Merchandise broadens your reach by bringing your online brand and personality into the real world, and it strengthens your bond with your fans by allowing them to “buy” into what you’re doing.

Selling branded swag isn’t as difficult as it may appear. You can order affordable designs tailored for specific products, like t-shirts, using freelance sites such as Fiverr.

When it comes to order fulfilment, you may combine your store with one of the many print-on-demand providers who will handle shipping, fulfilment, and customer service for you, allowing you to reap all of the benefits of a print-on-demand business while putting in less effort.

Conclusion

There are so many ways to make money from YouTube but these are the most passive ways I know. Don’t get me wrong, it is not easy to create valuable content. There is a lot of planning, scripting, filming, editing (which is the most stressful aspect if you ask me), SEO optimization and promoting involved.

However, when you get into the groove of things and have a lot of good content out that’s getting a lot of engagement from a loyal and growing audience, the whole process doesn’t feel like too much work anymore. your content starts to work for you and the income feels a bit more passive.
